Aakash Santorai is bi-lingual (Sindhi and English) development journalist based at Hyderabad Pakistan. He has more than 8 years experience in working journalism. He enjoying writing and reporting on climate change and its related issues in Pakistan. Initially he was affiliated with sindhi daily Kawish a largest circulated regional daily of Pakistan as a special reporter/ sub editor. His first training about journalism was held in August 2001. Then he is participating regularly various trainings especially on climate change and reporting skills which were conducted by ICFJ,WWF, Oxfam, Water Aid, RDF, SPARC, PPF and other organizations and institutes. He also visited and covered the Climate impacts on Coastal Communities, Intrusion by Arabian Sea in Coast of Pakistan, Disappearing fresh water lakes like Mancchar lake Nareri Lake Etc. He is also Media Fellow of Water Aid and written more than 100 articles and feature stories about WASH issues in Pakistan. Aakash Santorai is International Visitors Leadership Program (USA) Media Fellow 2011. He also participated in 6 week training on Digital media by ICFJ. Aakash Santorai is Coordinator of South Asia Forum of Climate Change Journalists. He has widely national and international media exposure. He is also part time Blogger and Photojournalist. In February 2011, Aakash participated in South Asia Wash Media Conference which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal. During this conference Environment and Climate Change issue discussed in context of south Asia .After 4 months he got another international exposure opportunity and received International Visitors Leadership Program Fellowship on Economic Journalism by United States government. During 3 weeks exposure/training in USA, he participated lectures in George Washington University, Indiana University, Newsium and other top media institutes like ICFJ, Wall Street Journal. Also stay one day at United Nation headquarters as a reporter and observed whole activities of United Nation.In April 2012, he participated in the media training on Climate Change and Digital Media in Colombo, Srilanka, which was arranged by International Center for Journalists Washington DC in collaboration of Srilankan Press Institute. Aakash Santorai is also fixer for foreign journalists.
