Hi Barb (or do you prefer Barbara?),

I just wanted to welcome you to Biodiversity Media and also to just say Hi! Really excited to meet you and have already been having a good chat to Michael about some of the work he's been doing with the seven gill sharks and I'm hoping I can put him in touch with a colleague here in Australia who has been doing similar work with a fish called a Blue Devil (very cute fish native to Southern Australia).

Would love to have a chat with you about your work with Reef Check, the California Science Centre - which Mike's also mentioned - and in particularly your underwater film/production - sounds amazing!

I'll have to leave it there as I'm operating on vapours at the moment trying to finish a few papers I'm presenting in the US next Week - my wife and I are heading off this Sunday and I'm presenting at a conference this Friday before I go and then two presentations in the States - Washington and Boston! We're really looking forward to the visit as this will be my first time in the US (though its the second time for my wife she's even more excited than I am - she did some work in NY as an academic years ago and hasn't been back since then).

Anyway, lovely to meet you and I'll look forward to chatting to you sometime. Many apologies for the long welcome but its great to have you on board - we need more people like both yourself and Mike!

Take care.

Kindest Regards, Rich

Welcome to BDM: hope you meet some interesting people here who can see the tremendous work you've done in underwater films!

Cheers,

Mike
