For those interested in the Mekong issues, today will mark a turning point of the region. The four Lower Mekong countries will meet and discuss to get a decision about the first dam on the river section. If built, it will set a precedence for other 10 more to follow amid concerns among environmentalists that the dams would cause irreversible impacts to the river ecosystem as well as communities which depend on the river for centuries.
