I am an Environmental Planning and Management consultant based in Nairobi. I am currently in the final of a three-month internship at the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA-Kenya).
Recently i was an observer at the just concluded CBD- SBSTTA 14 and WGRI3 at UNEP, Nairobi.
I am also a member of the Kenya wetlands forum, which is currently involved in lobbying for the enactment of a wetland policy in Kenya.
My home town is in the Rift Valley district of Njoro, where part of the Mau forest, that supports the Maasai Mara ecosystem is located. The forest has over the past years been subjected to encroachment and destruction, impacting seriously on food security, water supplies and energy, as well as the wildlife in the Maasai Mara. I have a keen interest on the reforestation program that began recently.
