I'm a marine biologist enrolled in a masters/PhD program looking at the importance of Marine Education in the preservation of the world's marine environment. I'm also setting up a research station in Vava'u, Tonga as a way of expanding our knowledge of coral reef systems, shark and turtle conservation and the study of marine mammals.
We are also working towards the goal of creating a Marine Protected Area in the region in conjunction with local communities and the IUCN's World Commission on Protected Areas.
The underlying theme of the Centre is one of inclusiveness and is open to any interested scientists, environmental or educational institution or organisations that promote understanding and conserving the world's oceanic and marine ecosystems.
I've worked for the United Nations, QLD Department of Primary Industries, NSW Fisheries and have recently been working for Monash University, NMIT and the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
I'm a member of the IUCN's World Commission on Protected Areas and the Commission for Education and Communication as well as the International Pacific Marine Educators Network and the Australian Marine Science Association while also taking on consultancies periodically.
I have worked throughout South East Asia, Australia and many of the South Pacific Island Nations. But currently based on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia and Euakafa Island in Vava'u, Tonga.

I won't go into all the information… Continue
