Hello, I am the Editor-in-Chief and Project Director for the nonprofit ezine Izilwane. Izilwane launched September 2010 and is an innovative online media project dedicated to enhancing human perceptions of biodiversity and nature. Just as Copernicus changed the way humans perceive themselves in the universe, we hope to change human perceptions of our place in the global ecosystem. For this reason, we say that we take an anthropological approach to the biodiversity crisis. We are achieving our goal by publishing articles, interviews, galleries and reviews that offer intelligent and diverse perspectives on how humans interact with their environments.

Izilwane is unique in that we engage global citizen environmental journalists to contribute stories, photographs and articles to our publication. Our volunteer editors work with these citizen environmental journalists to craft and develop interesting stories from around the world and from diverse anthropological perspectives. We are in constant search of new and interesting individuals to participate with our project.

We are entirely run by volunteers at this time, but are hoping to get funding. Please check out our ezine: www.izilwane.org.
