PODCAST: Four countries working together to get climate finance to the local level

To celebrate Earth Day, today I'd like to invite you to listen to Getting money to where it matters: ensuring funds for climate actio... – the latest episode of the 'People, Planet and Public Finance' podcast by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and the International Budget Partnership (IBP).

IIED and IED Afrique in Senegal have been working alongside organisations in Kenya, Tanzania and Mali, as part of the Devolved Climate Finance Alliance to design a robust and inclusive way to invest in climate adaptation, using climate finance.

In the third instalment of the 'People, Planet and Public Finance' podcast, IIED researcher Emilie Beauchamp and Bara Gueye, former director of IED Afrique, discuss a new mechanism for getting public money to the local level; a mechanism that accounts for the need to reduce financial risk and ensure accountability.

And don't miss the Earth Day message from IIED researcher Florence Crick where she highlights the work of the DCF Alliance, and Adaptation Consortium coordinator Victor Orindi profiles work in Kenya that is helping to increase ambition on climate action.

We'd welcome your feedback on the podcast, so please don't hesitate to contact me with any comments.
